Publication Date: 2024/06/11 10:30 AM PDT AWS is aware of an issue with the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) VM Import Export Service (VMIE). On April 12, 2024, we addressed this issue and can confirm new Windows OS imports are not affected. When using the EC2 VMIE service to import a VM using Windows OS, customers can optionally use their own Sysprep answer file.
