cifrada.
1. (I) A key
establishment method by which a secret key is generated by a system entity in a
communication association and securely sent to another entity in the
association. (Compare: key agreement.)
2. (O) "The
procedure to send a symmetric key from one party to other parties. As a result,
all legitimate participants share a common symmetric key in such a way that the
symmetric key is determined entirely by one party." [A9042]
[RFC4949:2007]
A key
establishment procedure whereby one party (the sender) selects and encrypts the
keying material and then distributes the material to another party (the
receiver).
When used in
conjunction with a public key (asymmetric) algorithm, the keying material is
encrypted using the public key of the receiver and subsequently decrypted using
the private key of the receiver. When used in conjunction with a symmetric
algorithm, the keying material is wrapped with a key encrypting key shared by
the two parties.
[NIST-SP800-57:2007]
the process of
transferring a key from one entity to another entity. [ISO-19790:2006]
the transfer of
cryptographic keys, usually in encrypted form, using electronic means such as a
computer network. [ISO-19790:2006]
secure transport
of cryptographic keys from one cryptographic module to another module. [FIPS-140-2:2001]
